There's not a whole lot to report, which really is a good thing...but I'm going to babble about our Monkey anyway! :-D
I had my 36 week appt this past Wednesday, and all is well. I had another NST (non-stress test...the one where I'm on the monitor for ~20 minutes and they record baby's heartrate pattern and any contractions) before my appt, and it was perfect. My Dr said my monitor strip could go in a textbook. Good job little Monkey!! :-D I also had the infamous GBS swab test done, and will know results at next week's appointment. This will determine whether or not I will need antibiotics when in labor. Read here if you want more info. :-)
And my tummy is still measuring right on track, not huge like Monkey supposedly is. My Dr doesn't think she's huge. Neither does anyone else, just by looking at me. And I really don't think she's huge. BUT I now have a 38 week ultrasound scheduled for Sept 7th, so we will see what that one says. However, Scott and I are kinda hoping she will decide to come on Labor Day weekend...or even Labor Day...how cool would that be?? "Yeah, I was in labor on Labor Day"...hahaha. Not exactly likely, but definitely within the realm of possibility. And while that would be a fun story, I'm not feeling like that's going to happen...
Here's another bump photo. :-) I didn't see much (if any) difference between 30 and 34 weeks, but I can definitely see one between 34 and 36! :-D
And this is the lovely site that greeted me Tuesday morning when I got home from work:
Ah yes, pregnancy cankles. I've been wondering if/when I'd be acquiring mine! Goodbye ankle bones! My feet are actually only a little bit swollen...it's mostly from mid-foot up through the ankles and almost to my knees. It's kinda fun to make thumb imprints half way up my calf! It's not like I haven't seen pitting edema before (duh--it's quite common where I work, lol!), but apparently it's different...and kind of amusing...when it's ME! Okay so perhaps I'm easily amused. I think we established that fact awhile back. :-P But whatever. These monster ankles don't hurt, they only look uncomfortable. And my blood pressure is wonderful. At this very moment, they are very close to normal, and I can *almost* see my ankle bones...but by tonight they'll be marshmallows again (although not as bad as after a 12hr shift at work!). This also explains why the scale thinks I've gained 5 lbs in less than a week...water, water, water!! Oh well, at least I know why! *Sigh*
Hmmm, what else. We had our maternity photos done this past Monday, by my same wonderful work friend who did our photos last December (did I ever post any on here?? hmmm...). I can't wait to see them!! Oh, and the nursery is finally finished!! Scott and my dad labored really hard to get the closet done (they built and installed shelves...and they turned out AMAZING!) over the past couple weekends. Poor guys...what they thought would be a one day project ended up being at least 2 full days plus a few hours on a couple other days to finish things up. Once that was finished, Mom and I and then Scott and I added the final decorating touches...and now it's done!! The 23rd was our deadline because the pictures were being done in the nursery...so it HAD to be finished!
Baby showers are both done too (family/friends/church shower and then work shower), but I was waiting for pictures to write about those. :-D
Now we play the waiting game...4 weeks or less!!
~Abigail~
